Après le succès de nos derniers webinaires de la série de séminaires ARG de la Chaire de recherche du Canada sur les bioaérosols, nous continuons sur cette belle lancée en vous invitant au septième webinaire qui s’intitule « Networked Collective Microbiomes and the Rise of Sub-cellular "Units of Life" ».

Ce webinaire sera présenté par Louis-Patrick Haraoui, assistant-professeur au Département de microbiologie et d'infectiologie à l’Université de Sherbrooke.

Ce vendredi 25 février à 10h, vous aurez la chance de l’entendre discuter de la "pensée en binôme" des microbiomes. Lors de sa présentation, il soulignera l'empreinte croissante occupée par les éléments génétiques mobiles (MGE). Le professeur Haraoui abordera également le recadrage des microbiomes en tant que réseaux et collectifs, remettant ainsi en question la pensée par paire. Il explorera ce changement d'un point de vue conceptuel et méthodologique tout en exposant les impacts des forces anthropogéniques sur l'évolution des microbiomes et les fonctions qu'ils remplissent.

After the success of our last webinars of the ARG seminar series of the Canada Research Chair in Bioaerosols, we are continuing this great momentum by inviting you to the seventh webinar which is entitled "Networked Collective Microbiomes and the Rise of Sub- cellular “Units of Life””.

This webinar will be presented by Louis-Patrick Haraoui, assistant professor in the Department of Microbiology and Infectiology at the University of Sherbrooke.

This Friday, February 25 at 10 a.m. EST, you will have the chance to hear him discuss the “thinking in pairs” of microbiomes. During his presentation, he will highlight the growing footprint occupied by mobile genetic elements (MGE). Professor Haraoui will also discuss the reframing of microbiomes as networks and collectives, thereby challenging pairwise thinking. He will explore this change from a conceptual and methodological point of view while exposing the impacts of anthropogenic forces on the evolution of microbiomes and the functions they perform.
